best boba in the oc

omomo tea shoppe (irvine)

this is a new one for me! they are pretty new to the irvine area, and tbh i’ve gone way too often. i think i went 3 or 4 times last week. the line is always super long and outside the door, so make sure you aren’t in a hurry to go anywhere. i’d say it’s also on the pricier side too. the drinks vary from $4-$6. the sizes are all one size, but the great thing about omomo is they use real fruit and use a lot of it! my favorite drinks so far are the strawberry yakult and the watermelon green tea. if you’re in irvine, definitely give this place a try!

7 leaves cafe (multiple locations)

okay so 7 leaves to me is like the in n out of boba. the menu is small, but the quality is great! my favorite drinks here are the taro milk tea. also if you’re a fan of sweet coffee, make sure you get the house coffee! it’s basically crack. also i think it’s one of the more affordable places to get boba.

cha for tea (multiple locations)

i feel like cha for tea is boba for college students. i think it was like the first boba place i fell in love with during my college years. mostly because it was right next to campus. i feel like boba wise it’s my favorite because the boba is so good and chewy. as for the drinks, try the mango green tea or the almond milk tea. during winter make sure to get hot almond milk tea with boba! they give you a spoon and it’s the best warm winter treat.

the boba here is so underrated! the fresh milk tea with boba will hands down be my favorite milk tea with boba anywhere. it’s so sweet and so perfect and the boba is chewy and amazing. try it out! i also like honey green milk tea with pudding.

ding tea (multiple locations)

honestly i’ve only had ding tea a couple times but i really like their jasmine milk tea! also try the signature milk tea! also it’s not as expensive as other boba places, so i love that!

milkbox (tustin and mission viejo)

milkbox is a very underrated boba spot in the OC. they’re located in tustin and mission viejo. the ingredients are organic and they have lactose free options for those who are lactose intolerant like me. my favorite drink to get is the earl grey lavender milk tea. it has that floral taste that i love mixed in with the milk tea and it is quite delicious.

i love the mini boba here!!! and the honey green milk tea is pretty good. they have a pretty large menu, so if you’re adventurous, try something new!
